The LA84 Foundation presents a free
Track and Field Coaches Clinic!

Hi Coach:

You really don¹t want to miss the great free LA84Advanced Track and Field Clinic that will be held at Mt. SAC on Saturday, January 26 beginning at 9:00 AM.

This is an opportunity that you just can¹t afford to pass up!

If you¹re a sprint coach, you will get a chance to hear the coaches from Rancho Verde, whose girls won the 2007 CIF-SS team title and then went on to win the state 4 x 100 relay crown. You will also hear Charles Clinton, a
USATF Level II Sprint instructor, discuss ³Proper Sprint Biomechanics² and ³Training Theory and Methodology for the Sprints².

If you¹re a distance coach, you will get a chance to hear George Varvas, one of the greatest high school middle distance coaches ever and the coach of Christine Babcock, the senior who quite probably will break the national
high school record in the mile this year. George will discuss training 800 and 1600 meter runners. You will also hear Mark Evans, who has enjoyed unparalleled success with both boys and girls at Crescenta Valley.

If you are a throws coach, you will get a chance to see and hear 2007 NCAA indoor and outdoor champion in the shot put, Noah Bryant. You will also get to hear his high school coach, John Amneus, who this past year also coached
Derek Johnson, who went undefeated on his way to the state title in the discus. You will also hear Chris Barboza of Paramount who guided Stephanie Aliimatafitafi to the CIF Championship last year in the shot put.

If you are a pole vault coach, you will get a chance to see and hear one of the finest pole vaulters in the world, Giovanni Lanaro, who went over 19¹ last year, set a national record, and qualified for the World Championships.
You will also hear two of the most respected vault coaches in the world: Bob Fraley and Brian Yokoyama.

In the hurdles, you will hear Wes Williams, several times our National Champion in the hurdles, and now a successful coach at Cal State San Marcos. You will also Jake Kuritz, who year after year has developed outstanding high school hurdlers at Torrey Pines High School.

In the high jump, two of the countries finest coaches and presenters, Darcy Ahner of UCSD and Ron Kamaka of Mt, SAC, break down every aspect of the event from the technical to the psychological.

In the long and triple jump, world renown jump expert, John Tansley, will analyze the technical aspects of world record holder, Jonathan Edwards, and Cameron Gary will further discuss the technical aspects of both events.

This is an incredible opportunity for all high school coaches and any other interested adults who want to attend. You can pre-register, see the full clinic agenda for the clinic or get additional clinic information by going to our web siteŠ www.LA84Foundation.org <http://www.LA84Foundation.org> .
